Heartsong YOGA Studio programs focus on healthy lifestyle choices and fitness on all levels, or – “Exercise for the Entire Human Experience”. Through commitment to the tried and true disciplines of Pilates and YOGA we strengthen and thereby ‘honour’ the body. With attention to alignment we are able to narrow our focus of concentration and move safely through our physical practice. The essence of both YOGA and Pilates disciplines is the breath. By consistently focusing on smooth, steady, deep, rhythmic breathing we are able to calm the mind and tap into this life-giving force, ‘prana’, or energy. Once the rapid thought patterns of the busy emotional-intellectual mind are slowed down – we enjoy resting in the spacious awareness that is often simply referred to as ‘peace of mind’. From this relaxed and aware perspective we flow freely through the physical pursuit while liberating the mind from obstacles and negative thoughts and ultimately experience connecting with that ‘larger picture of life and healthy living’ – connecting with your TRUE NATURE.
The second ‘sutra’ from Patanjali’s Eight-Limbed Path of YOGA: Yoga citta vritti nirodhah – YOGA is all about slowing down the rapid cessations of the busy intellectual/emotional mind. We are then able to enter the place of peace within, awakening to our Highest Essence.
Elizabeth Hagan devotes energy, time and space to being sensitive to this holistic approach to an all-encompassing exercise discipline practice. She is passionate about the magical, life-sustaining relationships we realize through physical movement synchronized with rhythmic breathing which guides us towards that ‘place of Peace within’. She expresses her inspiration through group classes, personal-training sessions, and teacher training and brings a wealth of years of experience and enthusiasm to these pursuits. Elizabeth loves to share these restorative and life-fulfilling programs with the world and cherishes connecting deeply with others.
